WARD NAKOTA ISGA: VOTE FOR DIANA

WHY I WANT TO SEE CHANGE

I believe it’s time to challenge the status quo with his common sense, responsible approach to development, budgets and growth!

I am a dedicated individual with a wealth of experience and a strong vision for Edmonton. My extensive background in education, business, healthcare, and community leadership, combined with a recent transition into real estate, affords me a unique perspective to tackle our city’s challenges.  As someone who was born in Edmonton, has been raising a family in Nakota Isga for over 18 years, and has served the community for over 35 years, I have a deep stake in this city’s future.

My non partisan approach to fiscal responsibility, safety, economic diversification, and above all, transparency and integrity in politics, presents a unique opportunity for Nakota Isga to elect a candidate who desires a move away from current unsustainable ideology. We need to refocus our attention on core priorities such as infrastructure, public safety, and affordable living; all issues that directly impact Edmontonians’ quality of life.

BACK TO BASICS

  • Like many Edmontonians, the past 4 years have brought about a personal frustration with the status quo on Edmonton’s City Council. After running for mayor in 2021, I came away with a firsthand look at the underbelly of local politics. That's why I am running again, this time for councillor. I am a candidate with a clean slate: no baggage, no party ties, and no hidden agendas. Just a genuine commitment to serve Nakota Isga (formally known as Ward 1) for the full four years. I am here for the citizens of Edmonton, not the political ladder. I am offering a level of openness that will rebuild trust. I’ll be the one doing the work, but you’ll know exactly what’s happening every step of the way. You can count on me to be a reliable transparent voice, focused solely on Edmontonians’ day-to-day needs.

  • My frustration with rising property taxes and shrinking services is something a lot of Edmontonians can relate to. I was born and raised in Edmonton and have watched our city evolve over five decades. I'm not just a candidate, I am a local who is fed up with getting less for more and I want to fix it for all residents of Nakota Isga. This is why I am a strong proponent of zero-based budgeting (ZBB). We need to wipe the slate clean in order to shake up the complacency that has a way of creeping into long-term budgets. This is a practical way to root out waste; whether it’s bloated programs or mismanaged funds. I will also be vigilant about local projects remaining on or under budget, while also being completed on time. I am dedicated to ensuring our money is spent wisely in ways that make our city more effective and efficient, while not increasing your property taxes.

  • My Back to Basics platform is a clear, no-frills roadmap for Edmonton that tackles the nuts-and-bolts issues citizens deal with every day. I am interested in zeroing in on only what keeps a city running, livable and enjoyable.

Responsible fiscal management, fixing ageing infrastructure, addressing mobility concerns, evaluating bylaw overreach, keeping neighborhoods safe, and addressing homelessness and drug use without deflecting blame to the provincial government, is a broad but grounded list. A strong focus on ZBB from day one will allow us to cut out waste and abuse to redirect funds toward essential services, long-term growth and getting our city back on track.
